Here's a list of the top 100 players of the 2000s, ranked in no particular order. We have all seen these players so I won't spend too much time profiling them, saving that effort for players of yesteryear.

Question- why leave off a guy like Tomas Holmstrom in lieu of Smyth, Williams, Oshie, Mikko Koivu, and Doan?
Holmstrom practically redefined the way power plays were run, and was certainly the best of his generation at what he did (net-front on the power play).
A top-1000 list is perfect to help honor guys that were amazing at/redefined what they did but aren't HOF-worthy. See: Mike Keane, Bobby Holik, Ken Linesman, Robbie Ftorek.
Not sure why my comment didn't make it, but you still have only 99 players. I'm just sayin'.
Patrick Kane is before Patrik Elias? Have you paid attention or acknowledged what Patrick Kane has done thus far compared to Elias? The rankings should be reversed.
Mats Sundin (in the 2000s) > Saku Koivu very easily.
Modano, Sundin and Forsberg should be on the centres list. I'd take off Saku Koivu and then, I guess, remove a couple of wingers, to make room for those three.
They were three of the best centres in the NHL in the early 2000s. Forsberg won the Art Ross in 2003. Sundin was a second team all-star in 2002 and 2004. Modano had some of his best seasons from 1999-2003.
