Brent Alexander Hughes of Bowmanville, Ontario was a solid post-expansion era defenseman with several teams after 1967. He should not be confused with Brent Allen Hughes of New Westminster, British Columbia who was a NHL forward in the 1990s.
This Brent Hughes was affectionately nicknamed Sniff. He played with the Los Angeles Kings, Philadelphia Flyers, St. Louis Blues, Detroit Red Wings, and Kansas City Scouts, totaling 435 career NHL games. He only 15 goals but added 117 assists for 132 points.
He also added four more big league seasons with the World Hockey Association, playing two seasons each with the San Diego Mariners and Birmingham Bulls.
