Here's a close up of the back side of a standard school ruler I got for my birthday this summer - the Rulers of Hockey!
Gordie Howe is engraved on the top with a list of the greatest players in the history of the game beneath - from Cyclone Taylor and Eddie Shore to Bobby Hull and Bobby Orr to Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.
I think they will have to soon extend the ruler by another inch to accommodate Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin.
The ruler would go well with my Bobby Orr lunch box and Wayne Gretzky thermos.

Ovechkin and Crosby both miss one essential thing to me atleast. Star-shine, starquality, legend-quality. To me they will just go by...I think its a thing of age. When i got into hockey, real players were playing, Lemieux, Lindros, Tkachuk, Roy...
I'm not that impressed with todays stars that get ridicilous salaries, while producing 50-70 pts per season...
I think i'm a bit conservative though ;)
