Hat Trick Kane
Patrick Kane's 3rd goal of the evening came in double overtime as the Chicago Blackhawks defeated the Los Angeles Kings by a score of 4-3. It was a beautiful, thrilling game, especially in the extra 2 periods. A game this beautiful deserved such a beautiful ending.
In doing so the Hawks not only dethroned the Kings by eliminating the defending Stanley Cup champions, but advanced themselves to the 2013 Stanley Cup Final.
The Hawks will open the Final at home vs. the Boston Bruins on Wednesday.
It is the first ever Stanley Cup showdown between theses two long time NHL teams. (Boston has been around since 1924 while Chicago joined in 1926.)
It also marks the first all Original Six Stanley Cup Final since 1979 when the Montreal Canadiens defeated the New York Rangers.
I was 1 for 2 in the prediction game for round three, being correct with Chicago but missing on the Bruins. I am now 10 for 14 in the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs.
I will be making my 2013 Stanley Cup Final prediction in the coming days.

I haven't heard anyone mention what the odds have been for the President's Cup winner winning it all. Do you know?
