Great Moments In Hockey History: Mario Lemieux's Ties Five Records In One Night

April 25, 1989: Pittsburgh' Mario Lemieux tied five Playoffs records with five goals and three assists in the Penguins' 10-7 win over Philadelphia in Game 5 of the Patrick Division Final. Lemieux scored four goals in the first period, including three in a seven-minute span. His 5 goals equalled the most ever scored in a post-season game. His 8 points tied the record for most points in one playoff game, set by New Jersey's Patrik Sundstrom just a year earlier.

What were the five records? Most goals in one period, most goals in a game, and...? Most points in a period? I'm guessing?

As you point out, most points in a game is tying a record, rather than setting a record.
