This Day In Hockey History: June 30th
1982 - New Jersey franchise was officially named as "Devils" in fan balloting. "Blades", "Americans", and "Meadowlanders" were runners-up in the contest.
1992 - After an arbritation victory Philadelphia officially acquired Eric Lindros from the Quebec Nordiques, in exchange for Peter Forsberg, Ron Hextall, Mike Ricci, Steve Duchesne, Kerry Huffman, a 1993 First Round Pick (Jocelyn Thibault) and cash.
1993 - Detroit Red Wings acquired Kris Draper from the Winnipeg Jets, in exchange for future considerations (exactly $1).
1993 - Mighty Ducks of Anaheim named Ron Wilson as the first head coach in team history.
2001 - Buffalo Sabres traded goaltender Dominik Hasek to the Detroit Red Wings in exchange for left wing Vyacheslav Kozlov, a 2002 first-round draft pick and future considerations.
