Sclisizzi, who was famously dubbed "Jim Enio" by famed play by play man Foster Hewitt because he could not pronounce his name, played in 81 NHL games back in the late 1940s and early 1950s. He played most of his career in the AHL.

As a kid growing up in Timmins,in the early 50's, and an avid hockey card collector, I knew many of the players from the area that went on to considerable fame. Yet, for some reason, Enio Sclisizzi's name stuck with me over the years. As his record indicates he was never a star in the NHL but to me he represented the spirit of all those guys who played the game intensely even though they never escaped the minor leagues for long. Once, a number of years ago I had the opportunity to me a woman with that last name. I asked if she was related and she said yes. She also seemed delighted that someone one other than family and close friends remembered. A good friend Ray Gariepy (Boston Bruins)recently passed away as well.
I am deeply saddened by their deaths and my prayers go out to their families. Try as I might I never managed to play goal for the Leafs.
