This Day In Hockey History: Nov 14th
1936 - Toronto's "King" Clancy scored on a penalty shot as the Maple Leafs beat Chicago 6-2. It was the final goal of his NHL playing career.
1985 - Philadelphia honored the memory of goaltender Pelle Lindbergh, fatally injured in an automobile accident four days earlier, in a pre-game ceremony before a 5-3 win over the Oilers.
1991 - Toronto's Dave Reid set an NHL record with a shorthanded goal in his fourth straight game, a 5-3 win over the visiting Washington Capitals.
1998 - Bobby and Brett Hull became the first father-son combination to each score 1,000 NHL points. Brett had 3 points to become 53rd player in NHL history to get 1,000 points.
2001 - Patrick Roy became the first goaltender in NHL history to win 200 games with two teams (Montreal and Colorado) when the Avalanche won 1-0 against the visiting Minnesota Wild.
