History Says: Pressure Is On Boston

Here is your historical stat of the day:
Teams hosting Game 6 trailing the Stanley Cup Final 3-2 have posted a 10-15 record since the best-of-seven format was introduced in 1939. Of the 10 clubs who forced a seventh and deciding game, three went on to capture the Stanley Cup (Detroit in 1950, Montreal in 1971, Pittsburgh in 2009).
Still, there's enough nervous energy in British Columbia to fuel North American motorists for the rest of the year. This much I know - the Canucks are hopping on a plane and coming home on Tuesday regardless what happens. The question is - will the have a little extra luggage?

Joe, I think if they can get out of the 1st period tied or up, there will be no game 7. The first goal will be HUGE.

I like your web site. I'm a Boston fan that's been tooling around the internet looking for a new angle or some additional news regarding this series. It's been an awesome series and the home ice has been a striking advantage. Really these teams are jekyll and hyde when it comes to the venue.

Heading into the 3rd period of Game 6 it looks like it's going 7 and I will say this: hockey is your game and I would never be disappointed to see any Canadian team win the Cup knowing how much it means to Canada. That said, I'm rooting like hell for this very gritty and likable Bruins team (that can't win in Vancouver). Best of luck on Wednesday night...if it comes to it.
