Did you know that on this date in 1978 Wayne Gretzky played his very first game with the Edmonton Oilers?Believe it or not, he actually played that game wearing jersey #20. Gretzky had just arrived in Edmonton after being traded from Indianapolis. The team did not have a #99 jersey prepared, so he wore #20 that night, and that night only.
