End Of The Line For Shanahan?

This is Brendan Shanahan's rookie hockey card from 1988-89. Twenty years later, it looks like Shanny's career may be over.

Two days before the Devils' season is about to start the player and team have mutually and amicably agreed to part ways. The Devils want to go with younger players.

Shanahan released a statement stating that he would take the next couple of weeks off with his family to decide his future. Given his previous reluctance to move from the greater New York area his on-ice options may be non-existent.
