The Czechoslovakians had just defeated their bitter rivals, with Golonka scoring the insurance goal in the 4-2 victory.The game was played in the 1968 Olympics. Though the Soviets would still win gold, the Czechoslovakians won something greater, scoring a great victory over their communist oppressors.

Czechoslovakia was a country of two nations - Czechs and Slovaks. in 1993, Czechoslovakia split into separate Czech and Slovakia. Jozef Golonka is Slovak
