Olympic Rosters Shaping Up

I think I have to stop enjoying the summer so much and start staying home. Last minute I went back out to Kleanza Creek for the past couple of days, enjoying the weather and camping and getting LOTS of preparatory work done for several upcoming features and projects.

There was some interesting Olympic Camp news of note while I was out in the wilderness:

Early gold medal favorite Russia has announced their Olympic orientation camp invitees. Interestingly, the 38 man roster is split evenly amongst NHL and KHL players. There are some interesting names here, with the likes of Sergei Zubov and Sergei Fedorov apparently making peace with the national team. Nikolai Zherdev's an interesting name left, but I don't think he could crack the line up anyways. Also, it's too bad Viacheslav Kozlov was not invited. He may be a touch too old now, but he's always been a very admirable player.

The Russians will get together August 29th through September 2nd in Moscow.

Slovakia is hosting their summer camp right now in Poprad. Finland will get together August 11th and 12th in Vierumaki. The Americans are gathering in Woodbridge, Illinois from August 17th through 19th. The Canadians will meet in Calgary from August 24th through 28th.

Defending champion Sweden apparantly held an Olympic orientation camp, but the roster and even news of the event is quite the highly regarded secret apparently. I also have no news regarding the Czech Republic's plans.

Germany held their camp back in July.
