I found this magazine on eBay. I had all but forgotten about the old Great Goalies series of magazines. I know I bought quite a few as a kid.

I do not specifically remember this issue though. But I certainly remember Ron Hextall and how exciting he was to watch back in the late 1980s. He stopped pucks, scored goals, and, at that time, may have been the baddest of the Broad Street Bullies.

Although victims like Kent Nilsson and Chris Chelios may disagree, Ron Hextall was a great goalie. He is today's Greatest Hockey Legend.

One of my fondest hockey memories are from the summer of 1990 when I spent a good three hours sitting next to Kirk at a signing event somewhere in Toronto, when I was working at Tackla, and he was helping us market the Tackla Pro Hockey School.

And how my heart missed a beat when I a month later traveled to the Victoria Island to see the Canucks training camp, and stood behind the plexiglass, behind the net when Kirk came from the bench, saw me, and waved Hi.

Oh, and yeah, you bet i was pulling for the Canucks in 1994. Just for Kirk. Great goalie, great guy.
