TSN's Pierre McGuire has posted his "Locks and Watch List" for selecting Team Canada 2010.
It is an interesting to compare McGuire's list to the Hockey History Blogger's list posted back on July 31st.
Perhaps it is not surprising that two lists are remarkably similar.
McGuire only lists Roberto Luongo as a lock in net. Given his age, it is fair to list Martin Brodeur on the watch list. But somehow Marty Turco is completely missing from McGuire's insight. I'm going to guess it was a posting error by the web team.
McGuire is really high on Mike Green, listing him as a lock. I still think he needs to come through with a strong follow up season here first. McGuire does not put Dan Boyle or Shea Weber, two of his favorites. It's nice to see Dan Hamhuis is truly getting interest from Olympic watchers.
No real surprises up front. Perhaps Paul Kariya's inclusion on the watch list. He does list more forwards than I did.
Compare the two lists and let me know what you think. How does my list compare to Pierre McGuires?
