A Look Back At Round 2

Well, I looked bad in round two, going just 1 for 4. That brings my prediction tally to 7-5.

A few thoughts on round one -

SJ - Evgeni Nabokov's incredible save on Brad Richards has to be save of the year. If the Sharks somehow managed to win the series, that would have been the defining save of the franchise's history.

DAL - Brendan Morrow has always been a horse. Now he is entering Jarome Iginla's stratosphere.

DET - In a word - Mule. Nice story developing with Chris Osgood, too.

Col - Don't retire yet, Joe Sakic. Come home to Vancouver!

PIT - Sidney Crosby has been good. But Evgeni Malkin has been great.

NYR - I still think the Rangers were unlucky in many ways not to have a better fate. And make no mistake, Jaromir Jagr is one of top 50 players ever.

PHI - As good as the team is playing, I'm sad to see an old warrior like Jason Smith struggling. One of the all time underrated greats.

MTL - Despite the loss, it's great to see the Habs back near the top.

Round three predictions and previews will come in the next day or two. But right now I want to take the time to thank all of my loyal readers. With just 4 teams left and as spring quickly turns to summer, website traffic is starting to slow. It's been a fantastic season, nearly tripling page loads compared to my first season of blogging. I will be posting lots of hockey history all summer long, and of course will be right here when the boys of winter lace up the skates in the fall.
