The year is 1977. The Montreal Canadiens complete the regular season with a just 8 losses.Needless to say, the Habs are the heavy favorite to win the Stanley Cup for the second time in as many years. They would face little competition in playoffs either, notching sweeps in the quarterfinals against St. Louis and in the finals against Boston. Only the up-and-coming New York Islanders offered Montreal a challenge, winning two games in the semi-finals.
Montreal is led by the dramatic Guy Lafleur, who won the Conn Smythe trophy with his league leading 26 points.
Ken Dryden continued his playoff dominance as well, leading the way with a puny 1.55 GAA and 4 shutouts en route to another Stanley Cup.

From Boston We played them in the final in 77
but they were too strong.
They only lost one home game all year and we beat them 4-3 at the Forum and also beat them twice in Boston for 3 of their 8 losses
