Boston pays the "kost"

On Thursday night the Boston Bruins lost to the Montreal Canadiens for the 9th time in as many games this season. This game was over early, thanks to goals by bothers Sergei and Andrei Kostitsyn in the opening 2:02 of play. Tom Kostopolous chipped in with a goal and an assist.

The brothers from Belarus certainly made memorable Stanley Cup playoff debuts, each scoring on their first shift, and 1:28 apart.

But in case you're wondering, the Kostitsyns did not sit NHL records for the fastest goals by brothers in playoff history.

Bill and Bun Cook of the New York Rangers scored 27 seconds apart way back on March 26, 1933. Peter and Frank Mahovlich tallied 58 seconds on April 29th, 1979.
