Legace, Schofield and Affleck help low income home owners

The St. Louis Blues missed the playoffs in 2007, as their rebuilding process continues. Their goalie, Manny Legace, is spending his off-season rebuilding in a different sort of way. He's traded in his hockey stick for a hammer to help low income home owners.

Legace, along with former NHLers Dwight Schofield and Bruce Affleck, are volunteering their time with the St. Louis chapter of the charitable organization Rebuilding Together. Currently they are among 20 volunteers at 73 year old Ruthie Gibbons house. As Chris Pinkert of St. Louis Blues.com discovers, this isn't some guest appearance for these stars. The hockey players get their hands dirty.
